Starting Up in Tourism Workshop

If you've just started a tourism business - or you're planning to - and would like to know more about who to talk to, what steps to take and how to go about it, then this workshop is for you!

Tourism Alliance Victoria, Small Business Victoria, Tourism Victoria and the OAMPS Insurance Brokers, have combined their expertise and resources to develop this introduction to the tourism industry for new and potential businesses.

The aim is to provide strategic insight across a range of essential business practices and improve overall business acumen and planning.

Workshop notes and a comprehensive resource kit including industry publications will be provided, as well as relevant industry contacts and networking opportunities for you to follow up.

Australian Tourism Accreditation Program Launch

After many months of hard work the Australian Tourism Accreditation Program was officially launched on the 31st of October at Skydeck 88, Eureka Tower. For more information regarding ATAP please visit their website www.atap.net.au or view some photos from the event here.

National Tourism Accreditation Framework

The Australian Government is leading the development of a National Tourism Accreditation Framework (NTAF).

The primary objective of the NTAF is a quality customer experience achieved through an accreditation and promotional framework that recognises sustainable and capable businesses.

OTTE renamed Skills Victoria - New Website

As many of you will be aware the Office of Training and Tertiary Education or OTTE has been renamed Skills Victoria. Along with this change Skills Victoria has refreshed and renamed their website to www.skills.vic.gov.au. The new Skills Victoria web site provides information on education and training options to a wide range of audiences including apprentices, trainees, students, teachers, trainers, businesses and employers.

Information about Victorian ITABs and links to their web sites can be accessed through the Industry & Employers tab on the side menu.

If you are looking for corporate-specific information visit Skills Victoria Corporate: www.skills.vic.gov.au/corporate.

The main feature of the new web sites are the ease of navigation and quicker click-access to information.

The web site is live as at today, and I encourage you to visit and engage with Skills Victoria's on-line platform.
