  1. What is an ITAB?

    An ITAB is an Industry Training Advisory Body. ITABs provide advice to government about the training needs of their industries. They are independent, not-for-profit organisations that are governed by bi-partite, industry based boards, or in some cases operated by host organisations.   2. What industries does SSV cover?

    SSV is a company limited by guarantee, in other words a not-for-profit company. It is a bi-partite organisation, owned by industry and governed by an industry based board. SSV derives its income from both government and commercial contracts. More information can be found in the SSV capability statement.

  3. Is SSV a government body?

    No, SSV is a company limited by guarantee (in other words a not-for-profit company). It is governed by a bi-partite, industry based board, drawn from the industries we represent. The members of the company are also drawn from industry and sit on one of the two Industry Advisory Committees.

  4. Are you the same as Skills Victoria?

    No, Despite our very similar names we are not Skills Victoria, however we do with them on various projects throughout the year. If you would like to speak to someone from Skills Victoria, their contact details are as follows:

  5. Is there someone I can talk to about tourism/retail/food/manufacturing/etc?

  6. Does SSV sell training guides?

    SSV does not produce any training or delivery resources. If you would like to discuss parts of the Tourism, Hospitality and Events or WRAPS training guides we may be able to help. If you would like to purchase or find out how to obtain any training guides, you should speak to the national industry skills council, Service Skills Australia. Their contact details are as follows:
